Several times a year, the artist and photographer Freya Bialaschik visits the enchanting Dutch island of Schiermonnikoog, which she describes as love at first sight. The diverse moods of this small island inspired her from day one to artistically express her lifelong love and longing for the sea. 

Over the past three years, partly under her artist name Liv Malsoem, she has created a series of varied beach and sea images, both concrete and abstract. These works are now being presented to the public in the exhibition "NORTH SEA WOMAN." 
 

The pieces, mostly large-format and created in acrylic on canvas, are characterized by an intuitive approach: the artist paints without brushes, primarily using her hands to bring the textures and colors to life and to convey her deep love for the natural beauty and forces of nature on this island unfiltered on the canvas. 

The images depict the beach, sky, and sea in various moods—from the calm, peaceful atmosphere that invites daydreaming to stormy, dynamic moments that quicken the heart—each picture tells its own story. 

Artist Freya invites you to embark on a visual journey and to be touched by the island's fascination through your own eyes, allowing the viewer's perspective and emotions to resonate with the images simultaneously.
